I'm Carolyn Childress, and I'm the owner of The Dream Spa. I was a legal secretary for about 20 years, when I had the dream of becoming an aesthetician. I went back to school and got my license in April of 2004. I opened The Dream Spa in May of 2004 and have never been happier--realizing the Great American Dream as well as my own, of helping people feel and look relaxed and beautiful.
I suffered with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, depression and Fibromyalgia for many years and feel very strongly about encouraging women and men to TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES...because no one else will! Our bodies are miraculously made and have incredible messenger systems that need to be heeded! I destroyed my immune system by not listening to those messengers of pain, tiredness and anxiety, and it took many years of alternative therapies to restore it. Therefore, my mission is to constantly encourage people to slow down, relax, laugh and drink more water!
Our bodies heal only when at rest, they also heal with touch. These modalities, when combined with excellent, natural skin care products produce a winning combination and a lovely integration of body, mind and spirit. Our facials and waxing focus on skin health, prevention and wellness!

I first encountered Dermalogica products while having a facial on vacation. I have sensitive skin and always worry about the affect new products might have on me. Carolyn assured me she'd use products designed for sensitive skin. She was right, and my only reaction to the products was incredibly positive. I've started using Dermalogica at home now, and I've been so impressed with everything I've tried. I love Daily Microfoliant, and have seen better results with it than any other exfoliating product I've ever tried. My absolute favorite is Soothing Protection Spray though. It is both moisturizing and calming, and my skin loves it. In the past, I was never really sure if new products were making a difference. Dermalogica is the first that has made a difference I know I can see and feel.

When I travel to Dallas, one of my top priorities is to always build in at least a couple of hours for a wonderful treat to The Dream Spa. My only regret is that I cannot go on a regular basis. I live in a harsh mountain environment a mile and a half above sea level which takes its toll on my skin. For a price half as much as the resort spas, she performed her magic on my skin, massaging my face gently while applying her products that I consider healing potions. While she cleaned up my skin she also treated me to some delightfully relaxing massage and since she is a Reiki Master, she balanced my chakras leaving me feeling relaxed and as loose as Jell-O. For a traveling business owner, I assure you getting my muscles to relax is no easy task. The reason I take the time out to write about my experience is the day after my facial I was amazed. The redness had gone down and my skin looked radiant! I wore half the make-up, and even my boyfriend noticed a difference when he saw me, complimenting me on how nice my skin looked…he actually even noted that he loved my eyebrows which was pretty impressive for a man to notice, as all women will appreciate.
